Before you leave the house, record ten seconds of your own voice. At every meal the PFF056 plays it back while kibble drops into two 304 stainless steel bowls — one for each pet, split by a centre diverter instead of a single dish guarded by the faster eater.

Programming is simple: up to 6 meals a day at up to 40 portions per meal, a 12-hour AM/PM clock, and settings that stay in memory after a power-off. The 5L tank is food-grade stainless steel with an O-shape window so the kibble level stays visible, a snap-lock lid keeps pets out of the tank, and a patent rotor keeps the outlet clear instead of jamming.

• 10-second voice recording: Record one message in your own voice and the feeder plays it before each meal, which is the closest thing to calling your pets yourself.
